About Us
We’re passionate about hand-crafted jewelry, wildlife art and the artisans who created them.

John and Sandra Lopane began Native Traditions Gallery (formally known as …And Everything Nice) in 1988 in the 600 block of Main Street, St. Charles.  Over time the shop moved on Main Street twice more before landing in its current location at 310 S. Main.  John and Sandy combined their love of art and Native Spirituality to create a unique, beautiful atmosphere where shoppers could find museum-quality Native Made art of all types and fantastic wildlife sculptures, paintings and prints.

For those who were lucky to have met her, our sweet Jenday Conure, “The Cisco Kid” resided with us here at Native Traditions for over 18 years.  She cheerfully greeted every customer with a shriek that could be heard across the street….. with both doors closed!   She would playfully flirt and invited petting by tucking her head under one foot, only to launch a last minute sneak attack on an unlucky finger. Cisco’s great big personality in a tiny bird suit have been sorely missed since she passed away.  To this day, years later, we still get asked about her almost on a daily basis.  She was loved by all who knew her.

In September of 2018, The Lopanes began a well deserved retirement after 30 years in business. Rather than close the shop forever, long time employee, Angela Keepen and her husband Michael decided to purchase the shop and continue the journey, the saga, that is, Native Traditions Gallery.  Full of excitement and new ideas, we are working hard to continue to bring beautiful Native American and Wildlife Art to the area.
